Ixabepilone is a chemotherapy drug with established activity in hard to treat breast cancer. This study looked at its effectiveness is a subgroup of hard to treat relapsed breast cancer: those whose cancer returned within one year of completing adjuvant therapy. What we found was that ixabepilone has a similar efficacy and side effect profile in this hard to treat population as the general population it was tested in.
