Instructions to Applicants
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center subscribes to the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for first year trainees and for certain subspecialty fellowships. You may apply to as many of the tracks that interest you; application to each track is considered independently. Interviews begin early December 2009, continue through late January 2010, and are by invitation only. Applicants will be considered for an interview on the basis of their overall record.
The application deadline is November 30, 2010.
Use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) through your Dean's Office and join the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We accept intern applicants only through the NRMP Match. For further information please contact us by email at NYPCornell-IMResidency@med.cornell.edu.

- If you have taken or are scheduled to take an elective at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, include this in your personal statement - name of Department or Division, inclusive dates and supervisor (e.g., "Heme/Onc, 8/1/08-8/31/08, J Leonard")

- One letter from your primary research supervisor or thesis advisor for those who have completed a PhD, and one other from an individual familiar with your research (More than two is acceptable.)

International Applicants
Because of the great number of highly qualified persons applying to our program, very few international medical graduates will be invited to interview. On average there have been zero-to-four international medical school graduates in the three years of the program. Most transfer into the program after successful completion of internship in an ACGME-accredited medicine program. Applicants should have substantial research experience, outstanding letters of recommendation from their clinical and/or research supervisors in the United States and valid ECFMG certification. Though there is no specific board score requirement, a higher score holds greater weight. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center no longer sponsors H-1 B visas. We continue to accept J-1 visas.
Use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG); and join the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We accept intern applicants only through the NRMP Match. Applicants will be considered for interview on the basis of their overall record.
