The Fund For Medicine

Outstanding biomedical research, outstanding educational programs for young physician-scientists, and high-quality patient care create a triangle of excellence that defines The Fund For Medicine.

Our Purpose

The Fund For Medicine is dedicated to raising monies that will fund critical resources, top-notch educational programs, and breakthrough biomedical research here at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center. These resources and programs enable us to carry on a long tradition of excellence in medicine with the ultimate goal in mind: to provide superior patient care to the community we serve.

How it Works

First and foremost, The Fund For Medicine works because of the generosity of donors. Donors may wish to make contributions by credit card, in the form of checks, securities, or other properties, which are deductible to the full extent of the law. The Fund For Medicine receives gifts ranging from a few dollars to the hundreds of thousands. What is clear is that whoever chooses to donate, and however much they are able to donate, they do so because they see a need and want to help.

The foundation of excellence

We maintain a level of excellence by keeping our foundation strong. We do this by continually upgrading facilities, such as state-of-the-art laboratories and office renovations, and by recruiting the best faculty available. Our senior faculty serve as a valuable resource of medical knowledge for up-and-coming physicians and scientists and our residency training program is recognized as one of the best in the United States. For over a decade now the Fund For Medicine has supported breakthrough biomedical research which has led to new therapies for the treatment of cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, and HIV-AIDS, to name a few.

A Thank You to Our Doctors

Without the wholehearted participation of our faculty members, the yearly Fund For Medicine fundraising campaigns could not be accomplished. All of the participating doctors have our deepest appreciation for the time, energy and commitment that they invest in this annual fundraising endeavor. In light of the busy schedules they all maintain, the effort they put forth so generously is a gift to our Department, one that reaches out to benefit the entire medical community, as well as the patients we serve.

A Thank You to Our Contributors

Because of your ongoing support, we are not only breaking financial records, we are breaking barriers in the fight against disease. Thanks to your participation, our enthusiasm for meeting the challenges ahead is renewed.
