Ways to Give

The Department of Medicine is deeply appreciative of those donors who choose to support the clinical, educational and research endeavors of our department. The generosity of private and industrial donors assists in funding specific projects, as well as endowed professorships, fellowships and scholarships.

If you would like to endow one of the professorships, fellowships or scholarships, the minimum financial requirements are as follows:

Full Professorship $2,000,000
Assistant Professorship  $ 800,000
Postdoctoral Fellowship  $ 500,000
Medical Scientist Fellowship  $ 400,000
Pre-Doctoral Fellowship  $ 300,000
Oliver H. Payne Scholarship  $ 250,000
William M. Polk Scholarship  $ 100,000
Visiting Professorship  $ 100,000
Faculty Development/Research Fund  $ 25,000+
Endowed Scholarship/Loan Fund  $ 25,000+

Expendable Support:

Start-up Funds for New Research (1-2 years) $100,000-$200,000
Laboratory Renovation Funds  $100,000 and up
One Year Fellowship  $35,000-$50,000
Special Laboratory Equipment Funds $25,000
Book Funds  $10,000
Prize Funds  $ 5,000

The Fund For Medicine, established in 1991, is an annual giving campaign driven by the efforts of physicians who reach out to the community for support. The response by the community has been heartening. Funds raised are unrestricted.
