Regulation of Vascular Thrombosis in Sleep Apnea

Study Status

Closed to Enrollment

Study Description

This study investigates the presence of a specific genetic polymorphism in patients with sleep apnea as compared to healthy controls.  This polymorphism causes the production of an alternative form of deaminase, which may alter patients' susceptability to developing vascular thrombosis.  As part of the study, all patients undergo blood testing following their overnight sleep study and are categorized according to the presence and severity of the sleep apnea.
